Meet Dr. Nichelle Stone
Dr. Nichelle Stone
Echelon Education Consulting didn’t begin with a single career experience. It emerged from a career spent moving between worlds—and repeatedly discovering the space between what we know and what it takes to put that knowledge into practice.
Dr. Nichelle Stone’s journey has taken her from engineering and corporate environments to district-level educational leadership, the middle school mathematics classroom, higher education, and entrepreneurship. Each experience has provided a different vantage point from which to understand people, systems, learning, leadership, and change.
Together, those experiences shaped a question that sits at the heart of Echelon:
How do we help people move beyond knowing what should happen to developing the capacity, confidence, and conditions to actually make it happen?
Echelon Education Consulting is one answer to that question.
As the founder and CEO of Echelon Education Consulting, Dr. Nichelle Stone partners with educators, leaders, and organizations to build cultures of growth, courageous leadership, and lifelong learning.
With a career spanning engineering, corporate leadership, K–12 education, higher education, and district leadership, Nichelle brings a rare cross-sector perspective to solving complex educational challenges. She began her career as an engineer before transitioning into public education through the Broad Residency in Urban Education, later serving in district leadership, teaching middle school mathematics, leading academic departments, and supporting system-wide transformation across district and charter organizations.
Long before remote work became the norm, Dr. Stone authored a book on virtual leadership in 2016 (Virtual Leadership – Making the Leap), recognizing that leadership would increasingly require connection beyond physical spaces.
Today, through Echelon Ed Consulting, she designs learning experiences that help people think differently, lead intentionally, and create environments where individuals and organizations thrive. Her work centers on growth mindset, brave spaces, leadership development, instructional design, and organizational transformation.
Nichelle believes education changes lives…and great leaders create the conditions where learning, innovation, and people flourish.
